TRP would like to honor the life of Richard “Clay” Reynolds, who passed away on April 14, 2022. Clay Reynolds, for whom our annual novella contest is named, was an acclaimed writer and former professor at the University of Houston.
He is the author of fourteen books, ranging from novels to short stories to essays to scholarly analysis, as well as more than 1,000 other publications including book reviews and critical responses to literary efforts, commentary on education and culture, and academic articles. Before retiring from teaching in December 2019, Reynolds taught humanities and liberal arts at Lamar University, University of North Texas, and University of Texas at Dallas, while also acting in part-time and visiting faculty positions for numerous academic institutions around the country.
