Congratulations to Marisa Tirado who won the 2021 Robert Phillips Chapbook Prize for her chapbook Selena Didn’t Know Spanish Either! We look forward to publishing it in Spring 2022 and working with Tirado on this project.
Established in 2001, The Robert Phillips Poetry Chapbook Prize highlights one book a year that excels in the chapbook format. Since 2019 the Prize comes with a $500 advance, a standard royalty contract, and 20 copies of the published book. Previous winners of the prize include Still Life with Timex, by Elisabeth Murawski (2020) and Permutations of a Self, by Thomas Nguyen (2019).
Thank you to Benjamin Garcia for judging this years competition. Submissions for the 2022 prize will be open January 1 to March 31.
